Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme (GCYLP) with Huawei – Empowering Young Digital Changemakers (With Up to $10,000 Grant)

The Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme (GCYLP) is a global initiative designed to engage, empower, and inspire young leaders driving digital development projects. In partnership with Huawei, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is providing mentorship, training, and financial support to 30 young fellows annually. This program enables young visionaries to launch or expand innovative community-driven digital initiatives, shaping a more inclusive and empowered digital future.

 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Age: 18-28 years old.
  • Passion for digital development: Applicants must be leading or interested in launching a community-driven digital project.
  • Education: Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) tertiary education program.
  • Language: Must be able to communicate in English, as the program’s training, mentorship, and networking sessions will be conducted in English.

 

Benefits:

  • In-person participation in the Global Development Week in Geneva, Switzerland (July 2025).
  • Up to $10,000 USD in grant funding to implement a digital development project:
  • Initial $5,000 USD grant to all 30 selected fellows.
  • Additional $5,000 USD grant for the most impactful projects at the end of the program.
